Education in AAC

What is the AAC colloquium?

The AAC colloquium is an informal meeting in which current professional issues and topics related to augmentative and alternative communication are presented and discussed. Anyone interested in the topic is invited to attend. The colloquium is held weekly throughout the school year. Typically, 25-30 participants attend, including undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and local professionals.

Examples of prior topics include current research project updates in AAC at Penn State, current case studies of individuals who require AAC, and special topics on AAC applications (e.g., for individuals with aphasia, for individuals with pediatric brain injury, etc.).
