Admission Information

For Students Enrolled at the University Park Campus

Typically, all first semester students at the University Park campus are admitted to the Division of Undergraduate Studies (DUS) or to a College. The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is within the College of Health and Human Development (CHHD). Once a student has 28 credits and a GPA > 2.00, they can declare a CSD major. CSD does not have enrollment restrictions or entrance requirements beyond those needed for admission into the CHHD. Students interested in becoming a CSD major should contact the CSD Pre-Major Academic Advisor, Connie Kossan (CIK4@psu.edu, (814) 863-2290).

Students Enrolled at a Penn State Commonwealth College Campus

Students attending a Commonwealth College Campus pursuing or thinking about the CSD major should plan on being at the University Park campus for the start of fall semester of their junior year. To delay relocation beyond these times could endanger a student's chance of making normal progress within the curriculum. It is extremely important for each student relocating to University Park campus to advance register by the published deadline. Commonwealth College Campus students must contact Connie Kossan (CIK4@psu.edu, (814) 863-2290) for advising on what courses should be taken at a Commonwealth College Campus and for information regarding relocation to the University Park campus.
